Imagine you are dead and reviewing your life before reincarnation. You are about to make certain choices for your next life. Can you picture this situation? The Seventh Day, combines Buddhism and the death theory in traditional Chinese culture and demonstrates the concept of death in traditional Chinese society with body interaction, projection, and VR technology.

Last year I experienced the death of a close family member for the first time. The unique Chinese family obsession, coupled with the cultural background of local Buddhism impressed me. Shrines are surrounded by bodhisattvas with gold edges. Some people seemed relieved, but refused to say say anything; some people fell to their knees feebly, chanting "I’m sorry dad". What I can see is the attachment and obsession that comes with family and kinship. Descendants may think that the relatives leave because we don't show filial piety or take good care of our elders. It's an emotional connection rooted in family values. So, I begin to question: will those who died also be affected by the strong connection, carrying the emotion after their death?
